Restorative Care
in Eastvale, CA

Restorative care focuses on repairing and protecting teeth that have been damaged by decay, injury, or developmental issues. At Eastvale Kids Dental Studio, our approach is always gentle and personalized. We offer minimally invasive treatments tailored to each child’s needs—with comfort, function, and long-term health in mind. From small fillings to pediatric root canals, we provide expert care in a calming, kid-friendly environment that makes treatment as smooth as possible.
With an experienced endodontist on our team, Dr. James Lin can perform complex procedures—like root canals on permanent teeth—right here in our office. This means fewer visits to other offices and a more seamless experience for families who need specialized care.
Restoring a tooth early keeps problems from getting worse and can prevent pain, infection, or the need for more extensive treatment later.
Baby teeth play a big role in speech, eating, and guiding adult teeth into place. Restoring them helps maintain proper function and development.
A healthy smile helps kids feel good about themselves and makes daily activities like chewing and speaking easier and more comfortable.
Our restorative treatments
Tooth-colored fillings
Tooth-colored fillings
We use durable, tooth-colored composite fillings to repair small cavities and blend naturally with your child’s smile. These materials are safe, long-lasting, and placed in a single visit with a gentle touch.
Stainless steel crowns
Stainless steel crowns
When decay is too extensive for a filling, we may recommend a stainless steel crown to fully protect and restore the tooth. These crowns are especially helpful for molars and are designed to last as long as possible until the baby tooth naturally falls out.
Pulpotomies for baby teeth
Pulpotomies for baby teeth
A pulpotomy is a common and effective procedure used to treat baby teeth that have been affected by deep decay or trauma. It involves removing the infected or damaged portion of the pulp—the soft tissue inside the tooth—while preserving the healthy portion. This treatment helps relieve pain, stop the spread of infection, and maintain the tooth’s structure and function. By saving the tooth, a pulpotomy supports normal chewing, speech development, and space maintenance until the tooth naturally falls out as part of your child’s growth.

Extractions
Extractions
While we always aim to preserve natural teeth, sometimes extractions become necessary for your child's overall oral health. Common situations include severe decay when a tooth is so extensively damaged that fillings or crowns cannot restore it, infection risk where there's potential for bacteria to spread to other parts of the mouth or body, orthodontic reasons to make space for other teeth as part of a treatment plan, impacted teeth that are stuck and cannot break through the gum due to insufficient room, or damage from trauma when a tooth is fractured beyond repair due to an injury.
When extraction is needed, we offer gentle procedures with a focus on minimizing discomfort and anxiety. We'll walk you through the entire process and follow up with space maintenance if needed to ensure proper development of your child's smile.

FAQs
It depends on the size and depth of the cavity. Small cavities are typically treated with tooth-colored fillings. If the decay is more extensive or has weakened the tooth structure, a stainless steel crown may be recommended to protect the tooth and prevent future issues. Dr. Amy will walk you through all treatment options and help you choose what’s best for your child.
Every child is different—and we offer a range of sedation options to help them feel comfortable and safe during treatment. For mild anxiety or restlessness, we offer nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") to help kids relax. For more extensive procedures or children with special healthcare needs, we provide IV and general anesthesia through a licensed anesthesiologist during scheduled monthly visits. We also use local anesthesia when needed, and always explain each step in a kid-friendly way to reduce fear and build trust.
Baby teeth are essential for speaking, eating, and holding space for adult teeth. If left untreated, decay can lead to pain, infection, or early tooth loss—causing more complex issues down the road. Restoring baby teeth helps preserve your child’s overall oral health and supports natural development.
